“In this project, we focus on personal memories from our lives, including people, smells, and feelings that exist only in our minds now. We use this transient space to explore ephemeral moments that bring us a sense of home. We designed the apartment in an intuitive way to resemble a photo album – a collection of stories and spaces that are no longer with us.
For reference, we used pictures taken by us over the past few years, followed by abstract compositions that reflect non-visual memories or certain moods.”
Project we created for the artistic residency organized by Spacejunk Lyon – Street Art Rillieux. We painted all the apartment in a social building of a blocks of flats that meant to be demolished.
While we were painting, there were still a few families living in the block. We spent there two weeks in May 2023.
